[E3 2013] Bayonetta 2 - "Short Hair Is Fine Too"

Several years ago, a previously unknown game developer, PlatinumGames, deliver what was the most sexy action game and launch the studio to become well known (I, for instance, has become a fan of their games). The game that I'm talking about is none other than "Bayonetta."

With a sexy action witch as the main character, Bayonetta able to become one of the best hack and slash video game in the market back then. Universal critical acclaims from critics raining down on the title praising the characters, story, battle, and the fast pace.

Short hair is fine too!
And finally, after a long wait, we able to see the trailer of the next installment of the series, "Bayonetta 2." Planned to be published by Nintendo, this game is exclusive for Wii-U. Don't hate Nintendo, please, because it was said that Nintendo is the one that offering PlatinumGames to make the sequel. Without them, there probably no "Bayonetta 2" now.

What fans will notice when they watch the trailer is Bayonetta's hair. Yes, her beautiful long hair that was flowing all around the place has been cut very, very, very short. But Bayonetta's innate talent to be 'sexy' never disappoint us. In fact, this short hair is still looks sexy!

In a turn of event, the previous short haired girl in the original game, Jeanne, grow her hair to a ridiculous length. At least as long as the old Bayonetta's hair. It feels like they change their hair, "Hey, I feel like wearing a short hair-do today. Mind we change hair?"

They make a good couple
Somehow that screenshot makes Bayonetta looks like a very cool bishounen from some shoujo manga...

The battle will still be the same. Fast paced battle, strings of dozens of combos, some hair demon actions, "Witch Time", and of course everyone favorite torturing mechanism! Since we handling with new enemies on Bayonetta 2, there are several new torturing moves too. Remember, each type of enemy has their own torturing method awaits them. So for each new enemy there will be new torturing sequence. Ah, I remember the feeling back then when torturing the Seraphim with Wooden Horse. Feels great! And sexy too!

And bang goes your legs!
An amazing feature that can be seen on the trailer is wings. Yup, there are wings. Wings on Bayonetta back! It's not only show at the cinematic, we can see it being used also in the gameplay in what look like a boss battle. With a glossy black wings, Bayonetta flies around and kicks at that huge thing you called a boss. We just need some confirmation whether this wings will be a permanent addition after that boss battle or only show on certain event.

Looking at the trailer only, we can't say too much. But the trailer already show us that Bayonetta 2 seems as juicy as the original game with its fast paced battle, deep combo, stylish choreograph and cutscene, and of course there's never enough Bayonetta for us. Come on PlatinumGames, give us our Bayonetta!

I really hope this step from Nintendo to publish the second Bayonetta will not be in vain. This step opens up the possibility of sequels in the future. Let's hope it is the future for Bayonetta and hope next titles will be cross platform.

Below is a collection of screenshots from the trailer. And at the very bottom is the very trailer it self from Youtube. Enjoy!

The hair demon always looks great!

New character. Perhaps also the new enemy.

Sexy is an understatement. Bayonetta is sexy, stylish, cool, and amazing all in one.

Seems like the CG Director has watch Marvel's Avengers lately.

Wings. Black Wings. Fly Bayonetta, fly!

Good bye short hair!

Good bye long hair!
