My Lappie Was Down, But Now Well Again

Somehow the title looks weird and kinda like old novels' title.
Anyway, I'm so sorry for the lack of update for the last week.
I wasn't able to write down any specific information and updates on International Saimoe and anything else.

The cause of this can be known simply from my post's title.
Yes, for exactly one week my lappie was down.
Not only opening internet, I was simply can't do anything on my Lappie.

The details goes like this.
On Friday night, after I arrived home from my work, I started my lappie.
The start-up was long, but it was expected. My lappie's always work hard and the capacity almost cross the limit. Long start-up is not that foreign to me.
But then, out of a sudden, before she able to finished start-up, I could hear the sound of her fan slow down. This indicated that her engine was down and restarted.
I was surprised, this was never happen before. But, I quietly waited for her to wake up again.
And to my horror, after the initial boot up screen, she didn't show anything ordinary.
I was scared. I scared that I might lose her. The black screen then spew out white text, some of them were command informations.
But, the worst came the last. At the bottom of half-screen list of commands, I saw something that made my heart jumped. "Operating System Not Found."
My head spun, searching for answer. I tried to restart her again and went to setup. I was surprised to see that her internal HDD was not detected.
Seeing that I couldn't do much at that state, I was unwillingly switch off her.
I threw myself to bed, hoped that tomorrow everything would be fine.

Long story short, Nothing much I could do until last Friday.
Somehow the lappie able to start normally when the IT guy on my office turned her on.

But, true enough, even without lappie, I could made few post on my works.
Just like previously. But, since I was quite busy at work, I couldn't do that and relying on lappie instead.

Anyway, the good news was already written.
My lappie is up and well again. Hope I can make a good updates tonight.

Fansubbers Going for Hi10P (10-bit)

This post is obviously related to anime.
Of course, what else fansubbers related to??

As an anime lover (I didn't used Otaku since in Japan it's have a negative meaning) I always feel grateful to any fansubber out there who have sacrifice their precious time to give sub to us who want to watch anime without the need of knowing a lot of Japanese.

If you are quite an anime lover, then you can skip to the next part.
If you are not, and still want to read this post, fansubber is a group of somewhat diligent people who rip an anime on the exact air-date, translate the dialog, and put subtitle on it. They sure help a lot of people (minus them self, because it mostly didn't help them at anything, instead it put more work on them).

Tired of Supernatural Mouse? Let's go to the Big Tree!! Or Maybe not....

Well, on Mouse Hunt lately I've been hunting on Catacombs.
It last for around 3 weeks or so (maybe longer than that)
Well, it's true that I get more gold and more points.
But, somehow I'm bored there. Especially when time like my RB cheese run out.
Well, that's really frustrating.

So what do I do? I went to the Great Gnarled Tree.
I was planning to collect some Gnarled Potion there.
The Result? Not good.
You see, the drop rate of Gnarled Potion is very, very low.
Besides, the mouses there give less gold and less point than Catacombs.
(Well, everyone knows Catacombs is the best place to farming for gold)

Right now I'm getting bored of GGT and misses the catacombs...
Well, I think I'll go back there to farm more gold before returning to GGT.

As for you guys who doesn't know what I'm blabbering about, shame on you!
I'm talking about Mouse Hunt, one of the most popular game on Facebook.

Persona and Firefox 3.6

Hello to fellow Firefox user!!
Right now I want to say something about this browser...

If you're using firefox, u will notice that firefox will ask you to change to the newest version, which is Firefox 3.6. Well, it already ask me to upgrade since long, but I just upgrade it a few minutes ago. And right now, I regret that I didn't do it earlier...

So, what's make me love this new version so much? The most important thing is they have change the new tab feature in 3.6. You see, in the old Firefox, if you choose to open a link in a new tab, the new tab will be opened on the far right on the tab list. What's wrong with this? Well, nothing wrong if you are a normal guy who browsing with only less than 10 tabs. But, its really annoy me who browsing with what looks like infinite tabs (fyi, right now there are 26 tabs opened on my browser, with my personal record 50 tabs which all of them are usefull).

What they change is when you open a new tab it's no longer open on the nowhere in the farthest right. Now, when I center click (default shortcut for new tab) a link, it will open right beside my current tab. That's mean when I'm on the, let's say, 7th tab, the new tab will be opened on the 8th tab! For most of you it doesn't do much. But for me, it helps me a lot. Well, that's said, it also has some negative effect for me. When I research something, I usually need it to be organized on a single location on my swarm of tab. So, I think it will hinder me a little (Or maybe you will see another post about Firefox 3.6 with me hating the new new tab feature).

The next thing you should notice is persona. It's not about a group of insane student who fight monsters in a crazy tower maze with creature come from blowing their heads with some guns to prevent the destruction of the world (fellow gamers know what I'm talking about). Persona that I'm talking about is a new feature on firefox. I take that you all have know about theme on firefox. Theme will change appearance of your firefox, from background, font, to buttons. But, with persona, you only change the background of your firefox. Moreover, it can be done with only a few click. You can take it from the gallery, or you can also create a custom Persona if you have install the Persona Plus. If you already create your own, you can also submit it to the gallery and see them used by thousands of Persona user. Basically, Persona is like an equivalent of Desktop Background on Windows. They only provide a different view without changing button, icon, etc. You can also change persona without restarting your firefox. This will help a lot for a guy with infinite tab around. Just imagine how long you must wait for those tabs to load whenever you want to have a fresh appearance on your beloved browser. Thank God its not like that.

So, enough blabbering from me. I hope my simple review can help a lot of you guys to think whether you need to upgrade or not. As I said in my previous post, you can expect a lot of post in the future, and this, this is just a beginning. I have a bunch of topic to post here. Maybe tomorrow I will post again....

WINDOWS 7 HAVE ARRIVED!!!!!!

So, kemaren ini gw mengupgarde Lappie gw... Kali ini yg gw upgrade bukan Hardwarenya (dulu kan RAM) tapi OS nya!!! Yup, setelah sekitar 1,5 taun gw make Vista (yg uda ampe 3 kali gw re-install) gw akhirnya mengganti OS gw menjadi WINDOWS 7!!!

Wooohooooo (norak yah gw)!!!!

Rasanya gimanaaaaaa gitu. Keren aja liat si Nana ini (Nana artinya 7 di Jepang). Ada beberapa fitur yg di upgrade dari miliknya Vista. Jadi tambah mantep. Gw bahkan punya sebuah firasat, bahwa Vista itu bukanlah sebuah produk gagal seperti tebakan orang2. Tapi, sebenernya Vista adalah Prototype dari W7!!! Bagi yg pernah ngerasain Vista, coba bandingin sama 7. 7 Cuma keliatan seperti upgradeannya Vista gitu loh!!

Kalian pasti langsung mikir2, "Wah, si Benard dapet bajakan nih..." Eits, jangan salah...Ini Nana punya gw uda Resmi loh!! Lewat online activation segala... Caranya gimana? Kan kalo beli mahal? Emang 'semestinya mahal'. Tapi, kita anak BINUS punya akses ke MSDNAA, sebuah bagian dari Microsoft yg kerjasama ama beberapa Institusi (termasuk binus). Member dri MSDNAA ini bisa download + dapet serial number secara gratis untuk beberapa Software Windows, Termasuk 7 Professional Edition (tapi gak termasuk office >.<).

Jadi, dengan akses gw ke sana, gw berhasil mendapatkan serial number resmi dari M$. THX BINUS!!!! Satu lagi alasan gw seneng jadi anak BINUS!! Wakakaka!!!

Kemaren setelah Install, gw langsung re-install software2 yg bener2 gw butuhin, plus ngutak ngatik Nana gw. Gw juga dapet website yg ngasi 175 cara nge-tweak Nana. Dan akhirnya Nana gw uda lumayan mantep. Ditambah lagi gw juga install Theme nya Windows 7 Official Mascot : Madobe Nana.

Theme ini lucu, tapi juga autis. Suara2 system diganti ama suaranya si Madobe Nanami (Seiyuu: Mizuki Nana). Kalo gw close program dia bilang "Cing!", maximize "Ja-jan~", Kalo Log-on "Okaeri", kalo shut-down "Syato daun ka? Oyasumi" Berisik, tapi lucu~~ Kyaaaaa, Kyaaaaaa (gilanya kambuh)

Dulu gw juga kepikiran bikin ginian pake suara2 dari anime, tapi yg ini bagus juga ^^

So, gini guys. Bagi kalian2 yg udah add FB gw pasti minggu lalu denger gw ngomongin soal my beloved Lappie. Yup, once again lappie gw bermasalah. Waktu itu gw bawa ke puncak n disana Lappie gw error.

Kemungkinan sih radang sendi. Keknya lappie gak tahan dinign deh. Lain kali gw bawa lappie ke puncak gw harus ngasih minyak kayu putih nih (white wood oil ^^).

Anyway, masalahnya cukup pelik n gawat serta menyusahkan. Beberapa orang mungkin udah tau kalo lappie gw sedikit bermasalah dengan Explorernya, jadi sering crash n harus direstart.

Itu masalah pertama. Masalah kedua, dipuncak, tiba2 lebih dari 1/2 hardware gw keuninstall n drivernya unable to start. Jadinya, suara gak mau keluar, keyboard ga bisa dipake, touchpad gak respon, bluetooth gak kedetect, etc2. Gw cape ngasih twnya...

Untungnya di safe mode explorer gw gak ngecrash n Mouse masi ke detect. So gw mondar mandir di safe mode n nahan explorer biar gak crash. N hasilnya... Nothing... Nihil.....

Ujung2nya gw terpaksa ngelaksanain Lappie Resurrection Project or LRP (Proyek Pembangkitan-kembali Lappie). LRP ini terdiri dari 5 Phase.
1. Backup - Gw backup data di C ke DVD
2. Reformat - Gw format ulang C n Install Windows lagi
3. Reinstall - Gw nginstall lagi Software2 penting yg sangat berguna
4. Restoring - Gw copy balik data2 yg perlu dari DVD ke C lagi
5. Finalizing - Gw nambahin yg secondary, sperti software tambahan n personalize Lappie

Sebenernya sih standar banget, cuma kalo digituin kan jadi keliatan keren : p

Right now, Lappie gw udah terbebas dari banyak masalah (Thanks God ^^) n sedang gw pake dengan nyamannya. Sesuai kata status diatas, LRP sekarang lagi di tahap 4 n 5. Semoga aja cepet selesai yah ^^

OE Cake - Main Software aneh Gak Jelas Tapi Asik banget!!!!!

Oke, 2 hari ini gw sibuk ngurusin software baru n mantep bgt ini. Bukan baru keluar, tapi baru punya. Namanya OE-Cake!!

So, OE Cake ini ngapain?? Well, untuk simplenya, software ini punya kemampuan untuk mensimulasikan berbagai hukum2 fisika. Masih gak ngerti?? Hmmm..... Contohnya apa yah?? Air mengalir..... Proses pembakaran..... Etc.... Etc.....

Gw kasih beberapa contohnya nih ya:

Yg ini contoh air yg mengalir. Gak terlalu keliatan sih, soalnya cuma still image....




Klo yg Ini proses penguapan. Dari Air jadi uap air. Sebenernya ada proses pengembunan, cuma gak gw kasih gambar di sini..



Klo yg ini proses pembakaran. Gw kasih gedung buat dibakar di contoh ini. Betul2 keren! Kita bisa masukin gambar buat jadi komponen di software ini.





Nah, yg ini favorit gw. Dark Matter..... Ini harus dibuat dengan menggabungkan beberapa elemen, yaitu Gas, Inflow(penghasil), dan outflow(lubang penghisap segala. Seperti saluran keluar atau mungkin Black hole). Hasilnya? Sebuah gas yg trus berkembang dan dapat menghancurkan segala yg disentuh. Keren bgt loh kalo di coba sama gedung!! Tpi ini gw tes sama penghasil air yg mampu menahan gas selama 4-5 menit....

Dean Winchester di The Sims 3!!

Semua uda tw kan kalo The Sims 3 uda keluar? Sekarang nih game jadi salah satu game favorit gw. Di game The Sims 3, sistem Create a Sims nya makin yahud! Bisa adavance n bikin muka jadi lebih asyik. Nah, Belom lama ini (tepatnya 1/2 jam sebelum ini di post) gw nyoba bikin Dean Winchester versi Sim. Dean tuh chara di series Supernatural. Gw nyoba2 bikin ampe 2 jam, tapi entah kenapa gak mirip2 jadinya. Nih Screenshotnya :





Nah, ada yg bisa bantuin gw gak buat bikin nih sim jadi lebih mirip sama karakter aslinya???

Fire Fox Si Sok Tau

Semua udah tau kan si rubah api yang meluk bumi ini?? Browser keluaran Mozilla yg ngetren bgt... Uda gak asing deh orang ama Mozilla.

Diliat dari opening di atas, ketauan kalo gw mo cerita tentang Mozilla FireFox. Koq bisa si Firefox Sok tau?? Kan dia cuma rubah, eh, program denk?? Jadi,, gini ceritanya.... Waktu itu gw lagi asyik2 browsing di kos. Kebetulan kerjaan hari itu uda pada beres (bwt yg besoknya masih keteteran), jadi gw pengen santai2 nge browsing donk, tentunya ditambah facebook serta game2nya... Eh, lagi asik2nya buka gamespot sama wikipedia plus indowebster juga 5 tabs facebook (ya ampun! Banyak amat!!) tiba2 netnya putus!! Bukan net tenis, tpi net internet!!

Buru2lah gw nyalain Vypress Chat gw(bwt chatting LAN) bwt ngecek keberadaan net. Alhasil, ternyata net se-jaringan bener2 mokad. Pantes rada bau busuk. Eh, ntu bau kaki gw denk. Gw bolak-balik web, coba2 terus, sapa tau tiba2 nyambung gitu. Itu terjadi sebelum gw upgrade RAM klo gw ga salah inget, jadi secara otomatis gw bosen banget!! Hampir TV jadi korban gw banting saking keselnya (laptop kan mahal ^^)

Tiba2 temen gw yg se-LAN, Eric, ngechat ke gw. Lumayan lah ada temen sesama net mati. Dia bilang, "Ben, daripada bosen mending liat dulu nih." Dia kasih link gambar dari kompie dia. Artinya gw bakal liat gambar tuh dri kompie dia. Gw klik. Firefox langsung respon donk. Itu dia anggap link website. Okelah, gw pikir. Jadi gak repot ngopi linknya ke sana.

Eh, tiba2 muncul tulisan, page not loaded successfully ato apapun tulisannya ntu. Pas gw cek di URL-barnya, ternyata link yang tadinya nama komputer ntu, ditambahin www sama .com sama si Firefox. Wah, ngaco nih. Trus gw pikir, mungkin gara2 gw ngeklik link, jadi di sangka alamat web. Ya uda, dengan anggapan gitu, gw apus www sama. com nya. gw klik go. Eh, coba tebak!! Ternyata nih Firefox sok tau banget!! Sama dia ditambahin www sama .com lagi!! Kurang kerjaan banget!! Padahal itu link bwt LAN yg isinya nama kompie sama open port nya, eh disangka www. Dodol tuh Firefox!! Makanya cuma mentok jadi rubah, gak bisa jadi orang. Orang kan lebih pinter!!

Untung gw penyayang binatang, klo nggak uda gw siram air tuh biar apinya mati! Trus gw sembelih deh!!

Lappieku sayang, Lappieku Malang.......

Bagi anak kos yg sering pulang balik kayaq gw, Lappie merupakan gadget penting banget. Dari buat ngerjain tugas, browsing, chatting ampe maen game.... Lappie udah jadi belahan hati gw....

Hah? Apa? U gak tau Lappie apaan?? Aduh, payah banget sih ....... Loe semua tau kan, benda kotak yg ada monitornya itu... Apa tuh namanya?? Koq gw lupa yah?....... OH!!! Komputer sodara-sodara!!! Komputer yg gw maksud....

Nah, kan banyak yg manggil komputernya dengan panggilan sayang "Kompie". Trus gw mikir, "Klo Laptop gw ada panggilan sayang kayaq gitu mungkin gw bisa tambah deket ama dia." Dari situlah muncul panggilan sayang Lappie buat Laptop gw.. ^^

Nah, belakangan Lappie gw uda jadi ga beres. Banyak masalah yg timbul. Contohnya, YM kotak message nya blank, Sidebar Vista gw gak beres (yg nongol paling bener cuma Clock, itu pun cuma buletan yg ada jarum merah tak bergeraknya), n yg paling parah kalo gw ngopi, Lupa dikasih gula!!!!!! Kan pait tuh... Eh?!.... Nyasar deh, maksud gw Ngopi data kan biasanya ada Completion Bar nya. Nah ini jadi gak ada!!!! Jadi klo gw ngopi data, gak ada yg ngasi tw kapan selesainya, uda selesai apa belom..... Mampus aja gw lama2 gini terus......

Sebagai jalan keluar, gw memutuskan untuk memformat Lappie ku tercinta ini. Sebuah langkah terakhir yg sangat tragis.... That's why sejak 2 minggu yg lalu gw mulai burn2 data gw, backup2, mindahin data dri C k D buat jaga2.....

Nah, ini adalah postingan pertama gw yg berarti, n juga postingan pertama n terakhir gw make format Lappie yg lama. Post berikutnya berasal dari Lappie yg sudah diformat ulang....

Sekarang, gw mo siap2 buat ReInstall Windows gw... Doain gw yah Guys!!!!
